Temerity Seeks Dynamic Chief Financial Officer

POSITION: Chief Financial Officer – Temerity Capital Partners LLC

Temerity Capital Partners is seeking an accounting executive to serve as CFO. This position represents an excellent opportunity to assist the Founder/CEO and his founding team in building the investment and philanthropic capabilities of the Single Family Office into a multigenerational vehicle supporting the family’s vision.

Temerity supports serial entrepreneur and founder Andy Sandler manage his existing initiatives and to stand up new ones. Temerity oversees Sandler’s interests in operating companies and investments in multiple asset classes (investments include a particular focus on making venture capital investments across fintech and sports). Previously, Sandler founded and led multiple organizations including Asurity Technologies, Temerity Baseball, Treliant, BuckleySandler, RegTech Enable and others. Sandler is currently a partner with the law firm Mitchell Sandler as well.

The CFO will be responsible for the management of the financial functions of the office and will collaborate with internal and external resources to serve the financial, wealth, tax, estate and other planning needs of the family office. The CFO will have strong management skills combined with strategic advisory and technical expertise. The CFO will both serve as a senior trusted advisor to the current principals and coordinate the work of external financial, tax, and legal advisors.


  • Responsible for financial management functions/services for the family office, and related entities, including financial reporting and analysis, tax compliance, treasury/cash management, and liquidity projections
  • Perform financial analysis, modeling, projections and ad hoc reporting for special projects and strategic planning; interpret and communicate financial information and data; consult with Founder/CEO, team and family and participate in decisionmaking process regarding new ventures
  • Act as liaison and daily point-of-contact for selected external relationships (e.g., private banks, investment funds, financial advisors, accountants, attorneys)
  • Prepare quarterly and ad-hoc custom reporting (e.g., cash flow, balance sheets, tax projections, etc.) and manage asset transfers
  • Liquidity management including account maintenance, reconciliation of brokerage reports, account statements
  • Execute all treasury operations (e.g., wire, checks, journals and ACH transfers), manage debt facilities, fund private equity commitments and venture capital investments — while maintaining appropriate recordkeeping
  • Reconcile payments and proactively identify potential discrepancies or adjustments
  • Assist external tax advisors with the submission of employer tax filings and other legally mandated reporting
  • Serve as a senior financial advisor to family members, advising on personal financial decisions
  • Effectively build credibility and strong relationships with all family members, family advisors and family office staff that are consistent with the family’s legacy and values of respect, hard work, integrity, open communication, economic progress, and ongoing education for family members, including third and future generations
  • Responsible for operations budgeting and cost management
  • Oversee finance of family charitable foundation

EXPANDED DUTIES (depending on interest, aptitude, and previous experience)

  • Assist with analysis and management of investment portfolio (venture capital, private equity, real estate, public securities)
  • Assist with M&A and other corporate development efforts
  • Manage the financial staff of closely-held minor league baseball team


  • Undergraduate degree required; CPA preferred; advanced degree desirable
  • Clear communicator with good writing and presentation skills who is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, cash flow and liquidity statements and projections working knowledge of legal, accounting and tax considerations related to investments
  • Broad knowledgeable of wealth management across a range of asset classes
  • Prior experience working with/advising Family Office or multigenerational families of significant wealth;; highly proactive approach to serving family needs; service heart; aligned with family legacy and values
  • Entrepreneurial finance generalist and strategic thinker who anticipates issues and opportunities and effects solutions on a proactive basis; ability to “see the big picture,” yet highly attentive to detail, and implements appropriate actions to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to use tact, discretion, confidentiality and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters and documentation
